How To Whiten Tanned Skin At Home?
If like me you don’t have the patience to wait out on the tan there are some effective home remedies that help you get rid of them quickly. You can try these remedies without fearing any side effects. And if you have found an effective tan remedy for you, next time you step out in the sun you don’t have to think twice.
Here are some of the most effective home remedies to whiten tanned skin
Lemon Juice and Honey
Lemon is considered to be the best natural bleaching agent whereas honey is the best natural moisturizer. So mixing these two could work wonders on getting rid of the tan.
To prepare this mask you will need lemon juice (the quantity can be altered based on the area you need to use the mask) and some honey, apply this mixture on the affected area and leave it on for 30 minutes and wash off.
If you are looking for a scrub version of this mask you can add in a little sugar. This is very effective in getting rid of dead skin cells giving you a natural glow from within.
Cucumber Extract
Cucumber is summers best friend! Slicing some cucumber into your daily drink and meals can help in cooling down your body. But the versatile nature of this veggie doesn’t end there, cucumbers are great for tanned or sunburnt skin. Shred a cucumber, and squeeze to get the juice out.
Apply this juice on the affected area using a cotton ball or a brush. You can let it dry and wash it off with plain water. You can also play up the mask by adding a few drops of lemon juice into it.
Tomato and Yogurt
Tomatoes are great for skin, they are rich in antioxidants, they help in lightening and brightening the skin. Yogurt ion the other hand is a great moisturizer and smoother. To prepare this mask to remove the skin of the raw tomato, next blend everything with 1 or 2 tsp of fresh yogurt, apply this mask on the face and wait for 30 minutes before rinsing it off. Using this alternatively for about a week can give you good results from tanning.
Gram flour and Turmeric
Gram flour is very effective in skin brightening while turmeric has lightning properties and well as antiseptic properties. You can take these two in equal amounts and combine them using either water, milk or rose water. Mix all ingredients well till you get a fine paste-like consistency. Apply this to your face, let it air dry. Once you feel like the mask is tugging on to your skin, rinse it off with lukewarm water. Using this mask regularly can help in getting rid of tan effectively.
Oatmeal and Buttermilk
Oatmeal combined with buttermilk is an excellent combination for tanned skin. Oatmeal is known for its excellent exfoliating as well as skin cleansing properties while buttermilk (which I also love to drink during summers) is rich in lactic acid can soften the skin and improve skin tone. To prepare this mask, take about 2 teaspoons of oats, 2-3 teaspoon of fresh, plain buttermilk, combine this mixture and apply it on the affected area. Once the mask is dry you can gently massage the area and rinse it off. Repeating this process a few times will ensure that the tan has disappeared.
